While I’m reminiscing - I have to mention what happened for me after comics. Many of us artists were inspired by the seminal anime film Akira - but they way I found and saw it blew me away. When I was 13, I randomly saw a listing in the London Time Out for a ‘cartoon about the destruction of a futuristic Tokyo’. I decided to go. I’d never heard of Anime and had no set up or preparation for what I was about to see…The film was shown in a small theater in Leicester Square (with a screen that was about 10 feet wide and sat about 50 people). My brain melted and my eyes burned. I walked out a changed person. My art wouldn’t be what it is today with out that experience…
